Best Fish Taco in Ensenada: Other, flashier fish taco joints have opened in the past, what, 15 years? But Best Fish Taco really keeps chugging along, with its small but excellent salsa bar and well-spiced batter. It's easily the best seafood taco purveyor in the area - though, the shrimp is better than the fish. (Los Feliz)
Salvamex: Wow wow wow these pupusas are good. Personal favorites are the loroco and the squash. And they're so big! Salvamex also does a nice breakfast, especially the sweet corn tamales. And there's a breakfast burrito, should you want to add that to your to-try list. (Everyone in California has one.) (Cypress Park)
Taqueria Agustin: Such a gem of a taco stand. You can get huaraches here, which are relatively rare, but you'll be plenty happy with any kind of taco here, if you don't want to mess around with your starches. You gotta try the pastor, as it comes with a generous hunk of pineapple, and has some distinctly Middle Eastern flavors - not to kick up a fuss about the origins of al pastor or anything. (East Hollywood)
