Eat Here This Weekend: Thai, Sushi, Sandwiches

This is a month for feasting, and you shouldn't have to limit it to turkeys and hams.
Ruen Pair: It sometimes seems like Thai Town's classic restaurants aren't doing their best work these days ... but Ruen Pair is still rocking. It used to be open late and was a favorite of restaurant workers who didn't want the party to stop. Those days are over but the food is still great. The turnip omelette changed my life.
Hama Sushi: No reservations accepted and you'll get a discount for paying in cash. This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Los Angeles: no frills, not needlessly expensive, top-quality fish. (If salmon belly is available, make it a priority.)
Daichan: Quite possibly the coziest restaurant in L.A. County. The menu is huge and the combo plates come with a slice of watermelon. Why not! You can order a sushi bowl or a poke bowl (or both, of course), but be sure to order something cooked, too. The tempura is great.
Isaan Station: Yes, two Thai restaurants in one list. Perhaps a bang-bang is in order? Isaan offers northern Thai food, so it has a slightly different menu than at most Thai restaurants in the U.S. Get some larbs and salads.
Del Rey Deli Co.: You know what, I would not call L.A. a sandwich town. Which is fine, it makes each good one a gem. Del Rey's are better than average, sometimes to a high degree. For example, here is its veggie sandwich: roasted mushrooms, avocado, roasted beets, toasted pepitas, pickled red onion, arugula, Persian cucumbers, and buttermilk-chive dressing on ciabatta.
