Eat Here: Multiple Islands in Two Restaurants
Comfort food comes in so many forms.
Chibiscus: I don't mean to damn an entire neighborhood with faint praise, but it's always exciting when a restaurant in Hollywood makes delicious food. But the ramen at Chibiscus is great, and I'm excited about it! (Hollywood)
Trinistyle Cuisine: The dishes here are as packed with different flavors as they can be without veering into spice insanity. The cooks are toeing the line but staying firmly on the correct side: the pholourie (split pea flour fritters) are bright and herbal (not what you might think when you think of fritters), and the green sauce for dipping is spicy and vegetal. I want to stuff them in my face forever. (Inglewood)
